Cubs activate OF Jorge Soler
The Cubs activated outfielder Jorge Soler off of the 15-day disabled list on Thursday. Soler will be available for the Cubs this afternoon against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.
Soler, 23, was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 24 with a left oblique strain and saw action in four rehab games with Single-A Myrtle Beach as part of his return (3-for-13, .231, 2 2B, 3 BB, 2 R, 1 RBI). He is batting .265 with 18 doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 42 RBI in 90 games with the Cubs this season.
Chicago’s active roster now stands at 35 players.
